Motors

We use off the shelf 115-volt, AC, parallel shaft, gearmotors from Baldor. As the signs decrease or increase in size, so do the motors.


This particular gearmotor is a GCP24022 and is used on our 8-ft x 16-ft signs. With these motors, there is no need to convert to three phase or to DC power, and you don't need an expensive motor controller. When you get our signs, you plug them in and you're ready to go.


Timers / Switch

All our signs include an off the shelf solid-state timer from Grainger that adjusts the viewing time for each face from 3 seconds to 60 seconds. If you want a longer viewing time, please let us know so we can include the correct timer for your sign.


This timer is Grainger part no. 2A562. It eliminates expensive timers and motor controllers.

If for some reason you want your sign to shut off at night and then start again in the morning, we can supply you with an off the shelf timer from Grainger that will allow you to do this.



This timer is Grainger part no. 2E021. It can be added to the sign if you wish to turn your sign off during the night.



This switch is Grainger part no. 2XC10. If you want more information on these timers or switches, please click on the word Grainger and then enter their part number in the search block. We give you all this information because by using off the shelf parts and having our patented drive system, you end up with a very reliable sign. However, if a part should ever need to be replaced, we want you to have the option of ordering it from us or simply getting it from a local distributor.


Prisms


Our prisms are a thin walled extruded aluminum.  Our thin walls help keep the weight down.


This weight savings has a domino effect because now:
  • The frame of the sign can be lighter.
  • The drive system can be lighter.
  • The motor can be smaller.
  • Fewer brackets are needed to slide the sign into place.
  • The cost of your sign can be reduced.


Graphics

You have two options with the graphics.  You can print the graphics onto an adhesive backed vinyl and then attach the graphics to the prisms.  After this is done then you need to cut out the vinyl that is between each prism.  When you remove these graphics they can not be used again.

The other option we have is that we can attach clear extruded corners to our existing prisms.  This allows the user to order graphics that are pre cut and numbered.  You can simply slide the graphics into the clear extruded corners.  This makes it much simpler and quicker to install the graphics.  This allows you to quickly change out ads if you want to run a special ad for just a few days or just  the weekend.  Once you are done with the special event you can just put the other ad back in.
